Privacy Policy — Monkey Business Member App

Monkey Business (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates the Monkey Business Member App (the “App”) for members of Monkey Business Coworking & Café, Koh Lanta, Thailand. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

1) What information we collect

Information you provide

  • Account details: name, email address, password (stored securely), and other membership profile information you submit.
  • Bookings: room booking details (room, date/time, duration, booking history).
  • Community features: any content you choose to post or submit inside community sections (if enabled in your app).

Information collected automatically

  • App usage data: basic logs and event data needed to operate the App (for example, sign-in events, booking requests, and error logs).
  • Device/technical data: device type, operating system version, and app version (used for support and troubleshooting).

Information we do not intentionally collect

  • The App is not designed to collect precise location data.
  • The App does not intentionally collect contact lists, SMS, call logs, or photos unless you explicitly enable a feature requiring it (and you will be prompted by your device permission screen).

2) How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Create and manage your member account.
  • Verify membership status (e.g., active/paused/inactive/cancelled) to control access to features like room booking.
  • Provide app features including Menu, Perks, Events, Community features, and Room Booking.
  • Process and manage room bookings, prevent double-bookings, and show availability.
  • Provide member check-in functionality and keep accurate usage records.
  • Respond to support requests and fix bugs.
  • Maintain security, prevent fraud/abuse, and protect our systems.

3) Membership status and access controls

Certain features are restricted to members with an active membership. For example, room booking is only available to active members. We use your membership status stored in our system to enforce these rules.

4) Sharing your information

We do not sell your personal information.

We may share information only in these cases:

  • Service providers: trusted providers who help us operate the App (e.g., hosting, security, database services). They may access information only to perform services for us and must protect it.
  • Legal requirements: if we must comply with a legal obligation or lawful request.

We keep personal information only as long as needed to:

  • Provide the App and membership services.
  • Maintain booking records and operational logs.

When information is no longer needed, we delete it or anonymise it.
